“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
Do you know how the world we live in first began?
There are many different stories out there,
but today I want to share the story I know,
and the story I believe.
This whole world was made in just six days.
Can you believe it?
That this amazing, beautiful world was created in only six days?
But for God, that was not surprising at all.
He is the Creator.
He is greater than the whole universe,
He knows everything,
and He is the beginning of all things.
How the Story of Creation Begins
Shall we go back to that moment of creation together?
On the first day, God made day and night.
On the second day, He made the sky.
On the third day, He separated the land from the sea
and caused all kinds of plants to grow from the earth.
On the fourth day,
He made the animals that live in the sea and in the sky.
On the fifth day,
He made the sun, the moon, and the stars.
On the sixth day,
He created all the animals and He created people.
Why God Rested on the Seventh Day
And on the seventh day, God rested.
Do you know why He rested on the seventh day?
Because everything He had made
was already perfect—nothing needed to be added or taken away.
God’s world of creation was complete.
He looked at all He had made and said,
“It is good.”
You and I in God’s Creation
We are God’s artwork.
This world, and you, and I—we are all His precious, beautiful creations.
I truly hope
that one day you will come to know
the One who made this world
and who lovingly created you.
